Wanchai Sukhontham
Bangkok · Guidance Consultation
"I came in feeling quite uncertain about what my pension situation actually was — I had not reviewed it properly in years. The consultation was clear and unhurried. By the end I understood exactly where I stood and what my options were. There was no pressure whatsoever to do anything further."

Expat, Bangkok · Dispute Representation
"As a French national with Thai pension interests, I found myself in a complicated situation that I could not easily navigate on my own. Tham Counsel handled everything calmly and kept me informed throughout. The process took longer than I hoped, but I was never left wondering what was happening — every development was explained clearly."

Noppadon Srisuwan
Chiang Mai · Continuing Pension Care
"I have been with Tham Counsel for about fourteen months now through the Continuing Pension Care service. My pension arrangements are split between a government fund and a private arrangement from my previous employer, so there is always something to watch. Having a consistent person to call who already knows my situation is genuinely valuable. Response times could occasionally be a little faster, but the quality of advice has been consistently good."

Aranya Thongsuk
Bangkok · Guidance Consultation
"I had received a notification about a change to my pension entitlement that I did not understand. Rather than worry about it, I booked a consultation. It was the right decision. Within the session I understood what the change actually meant, why it had happened, and that it was not as significant as I had feared. The written summary they sent afterwards was also very helpful to refer back to."

Marek Kowalczyk
Expat, Bangkok · Dispute Representation
"The dispute representation I needed was something I had been putting off for months because the whole thing felt too complicated to start. Tham Counsel made it straightforward. They explained the process at the beginning, managed all the formal correspondence, and the outcome was better than I expected. I particularly appreciated that they prepared the written representations with me rather than just sending things off."

Rattana Buasom
Bangkok · Continuing Pension Care
"I am approaching retirement and have been using Continuing Pension Care for two years. The peace of mind alone is worth it. Knowing that someone is watching my arrangements and will flag anything that needs attention lets me focus on other things. The team is calm, knowledgeable, and never makes me feel like my questions are an inconvenience."

How We Have Helped — in Detail
These accounts represent the kinds of situations clients bring to us. Identifying details have been changed to protect privacy.
The Challenge
Unexplained reduction in government pension entitlement
A retired government employee received notification that their monthly pension payment was to be reduced. The letter cited regulatory provisions but offered no clear explanation of how the reduction had been calculated or what recourse was available.
The Approach
Review, clarification, and formal representation
We began with a Guidance Consultation to understand the background. Having reviewed the relevant documentation, we identified that the calculation appeared to contain an administrative error. We prepared a formal representation to the relevant body requesting a review, documenting the discrepancy clearly.
The Outcome
Entitlement restored, arrears received
The formal review process took approximately eleven weeks. The body acknowledged the administrative error and restored the original entitlement amount. Arrears from the period of the reduction were also paid. The client described the process as "less difficult than expected."
Duration: 11 weeks
The Challenge
Expatriate with layered pension interests across two countries
A long-term expatriate in Bangkok had accumulated pension interests in both their home country and through Thai employment. As retirement approached, they were uncertain how these interacted and what steps were needed to protect both sets of entitlements.
The Approach
Consultation leading to Continuing Care
An initial Guidance Consultation mapped the two pension interests and identified the key questions in each. Given the complexity and the ongoing nature of the requirements, the client moved to Continuing Pension Care. We have since supported them through two regulatory reviews and one correspondence matter with their Thai fund administrator.
The Outcome
Clarity, ongoing oversight, and a settled approach to retirement
The client now has a clear understanding of both pension arrangements, knows what steps are required and when, and has a consistent point of contact for questions as they arise. They have described the arrangement as "exactly what I needed — someone who knows the background."

The Challenge
Uncertainty about private pension fund position after employer change
Following a change in employment, a client was uncertain what had happened to their contributions to a private pension fund held through their former employer. They had received inconsistent information and were unsure what they were entitled to receive or when.
The Approach
Document review and direct fund correspondence
A Guidance Consultation identified the relevant fund and the applicable terms of the scheme. We reviewed the contribution records and wrote formally to the fund on the client's behalf, requesting a clear statement of their position and the options available to them under the scheme rules.
The Outcome
Full position clarified and transfer options confirmed
The fund responded within the required period with a full statement of the client's accumulated contributions and the available options — including the option to transfer to a new employer scheme. The client chose this path and we assisted with the transfer documentation.
