Six Reasons Clients Choose Us
Each of these reflects a deliberate choice about how we practise — not a marketing position.
Pension-Only Focus
We do not divide our attention across unrelated legal areas. Our depth of knowledge in pension matters comes directly from this concentration.
Your Pace, Always
There are no timelines imposed on you. We discuss what feels right for your circumstances and move accordingly — including taking no further action if that is what you decide.
Fees Set Out in Advance
Our pricing is clear and agreed before any work begins. There are no add-ons, no hourly surprises, and no charges for questions between sessions.
Strict Confidentiality
Everything you share remains within the client-counsel relationship. We do not discuss client matters outside those directly working on your case.
Plain Language Always
We explain what is happening in clear, accessible terms. If something is uncertain, we say so honestly — we do not dress uncertainty in complex language.
Consistent Communication
We commit to keeping you updated at every stage of your matter. Nothing is allowed to go quiet without explanation.
Professional Expertise
Depth in One Area, Not Breadth Across Many
Pension law in Thailand is a distinct and layered field. The Social Security Act, Government Pension Fund regulations, private retirement fund provisions, and the administrative processes attached to each sit alongside general employment law but require their own specialised understanding. A practitioner who works only in this area will know the landscape more closely than one who moves across many fields.
At Tham Counsel, this focus means our practitioners are familiar not just with the law as written, but with how the relevant agencies operate in practice — what documentation they typically expect, what review timelines look like, and where discretion may exist.
- Practitioners with direct experience in pension-related administrative proceedings
- Familiarity with Social Security Office procedures and timelines
- Understanding of Government Pension Fund entitlement reviews
- Experience with private fund arrangements and their legal dimensions
- Practical knowledge of formal review and appeal channels
- First contact responded to within one working day
- Consistent point of contact throughout your matter
- Sessions scheduled to suit your availability and preferences
- Follow-up summaries provided after each consultation
- Questions between sessions welcomed without additional charge
Client Service
Attentive, Unhurried, and Consistent
The quality of legal support is only partly about the advice itself. How you are treated throughout the process matters just as much. At Tham Counsel, we keep our client list deliberately manageable so that every individual receives genuine attention — not a standard process.
Our aim is that after each interaction, you feel more settled about your situation — not more anxious. That standard guides how we speak, what we write, and how we pace our work.
Value and Pricing
Clear Fees, No Hidden Costs
Our three services are priced clearly: a Guidance Consultation at ฿1,700, Pension Dispute Representation at ฿5,400, and Continuing Pension Care at ฿9,600. These are fixed amounts agreed in writing before any work begins. There are no hourly add-ons and no charges for incidental communication.
For individuals who are uncertain which level of support is right, a Guidance Consultation is a considered starting point. It carries no obligation to proceed further, and we will always advise honestly if we believe a different approach would serve your situation better.

What Makes Us Different
Distinctive Features of Our Practice
A Consultation Without Obligation
Our Guidance Consultation is designed to give you a clear picture of your situation with no expectation that you proceed further. Many clients find that one well-structured conversation answers their most pressing questions and gives them the grounding to decide what — if anything — to do next.
Continuing Care — Not Just One-Off Advice
Pension matters often evolve. Our Continuing Pension Care service provides a reliable ongoing relationship for individuals whose situations shift over time — without the need to re-establish context every time a new question arises.
Support for Expatriates and Returning Nationals
Our experience includes clients who are foreign nationals with Thai pension interests, and Thai nationals who have worked abroad and face questions about how their entitlements interact. We navigate these cross-border considerations carefully.
Written Summaries as Standard
After each consultation, we provide a short written summary of the main points covered and any next steps discussed. This means you leave with something tangible and do not need to rely solely on notes taken during a session.
